Aleister Crowley
THE CRY OF THE 16TH AETHYR WHICH IS CALLED LEA
GEMS from the EQUINOX

Roskilde, 10th of May 2007 I took the photograph. Overexposed, a strange landscape unfolded before me, like an old print. That same night I looked through some old church-books form Roskildes industrial period, and freaked out. In my sleepiness I saw my own name. I started researching my name and its use through time.  I sank through waves of blackness deep down into the history of the occult.  That’s where I found the book Gems from the Equinox  by Aleister Crowley and the chapter “The Cry of The 16TH Aethyr  Which Is Called LEA”. I also found a chapter called “The key of the 16TH “, which consist strange triangle signs and the words “ Unveil the mysteries of your creation; be friendly unto me, for I am the servant of the same your God, the true worshipper of the Highest.”
Somehow it all came together, and created a thin connection between me, this exhibition and the industrial period of Roskilde.
Now
In the desert
A sound of wailing
touching the double waters
spelling letters of weighty obsessions
a goat is running while I eat this cake of light
it breeds lust and the power of lust in me is growing
In a labyrinth of children I hear Your two voices in a choir
like rotating machines, grinding and transforming the sentences:

`There is a need for blood´ Leah Hirsig1 `They are waiting for you´ Rose Edith Kelly2
There are faint and flickering images in a misty landscape, all very transient.
